Overview
We are seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to join our team. You'll be part of a busy team, working closely with our other Engineers & Operatives, office-based support teams, contractors and our clients, to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of our contracts.
Hours
This role is Mon – Fri, 37.5 hours per week, 8am - 4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch. Overtime and weekend work is available as and when. Some reasonable flexibility may be required on start/finish time in line with works.

Role Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and maintain fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, and access control systems
* Carry out routine testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance across fire and security systems
* Fault-find and repair system issues efficiently to minimise downtime
* Ensure all installations and maintenance comply with relevant standards and legislation
* Program and configure control panels, detectors, cameras, and security devices
* Complete accurate service reports, certificates, and system documentation
* Liaise with clients, site managers, and other contractors on-site
* Respond to emergency call-outs and system activations when required
* Upgrade, modify, or expand existing fire and security systems
* Provide basic user training and advice on system operation and security best practices
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant electrical or electronic qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical, Electronic, or Fire & Security Systems)
* FIA (Fire Industry Association) training for fire detection and alarm systems
* Knowledge of BS 5839 (fire alarms), BS EN intruder alarms), and BS EN CCTV)
* ECS / CSCS card (or equivalent site safety certification)
* Manufacturer training on fire and security systems (e.g. CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, fire panels)
* City & Guilds qualifications in fire and security systems
* Understanding of cause & effect programming and system integration
* Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe working practices
* Previous experience in a similar role working for a fire safety subcontractor
