Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional Group Reporting Manager to join our Torishima Global Team (TGT). Torishima’s TGT Group consists of all of its overseas (outside of Japan) subsidiaries and operations. Operating across 5 continents and covering over 1,000 employees, the TGT Group is a key part of the Torishima Group.
This is a pivotal role for a strategic finance leader to move beyond traditional accounting to become a key partner in driving our business forward. The successful candidate will not only ensure the integrity of our financial operations but will actively help shape the systems, processes, and insights that fuel our growth. This role is designed for a professional who understands modern reporting but also is aiming to grow into a strong controllership and leadership role within the business.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Group Financial Reporting Manager to lead the TGT financial reporting function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial information from the various global subsidiary companies in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Working in our Glasgow office, you will manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process within the Torishima Global Team (TGT) Group, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial information from the relevant entities.
* Review and deliver the financial statements, including the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements of the local European sales entity.
* Ensure all reporting is compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or local GAAP.
* Serve as a sounding board and primary point of contact for queries and consultation on financial reporting matters with the subsidiary teams and liaise where necessary with their external auditors.
* Develop and implement improvements to financial reporting processes and internal controls.
* Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex transactions, such as acquisitions, disposals, and foreign exchange.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of financial accountants in the Glasgow office as well as assist in developing finance teams in the global subsidiaries.
* Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
* This role reports directly to the Torishima Global Finance and Administration (TGA) Head, based in Dubai. A key part of this role will be working closely with the TGA Head on developing groupwide finance improvements and enhancing the Group’s structures.
* A level headed approach and value adding mindset are essential.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
* Proven experience (10+ years) in a financial reporting or group accounting role, preferably within a multi-national company.
* In-depth knowledge of IFRS and consolidation principles.
* Proficiency with financial ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
* Excellent analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Good understanding of general IT environments and data structures as well as an ability to understand how businesses can leverage these and more advanced AI technologies in financial processes.
* Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to travel to foreign locations and work through language and cultural barriers in order to achieve results.
* Ability to think outside of the realms of normal accounting and reporting and seek out efficiency and value adding opportunities wherever they may arise.
