Job Opportunity: Operations Supervisor - Suttons International Location: Widnes (Hybrid after training) Salary: Competitive The Role The Operations Supervisor role is a broad, practical, hands on, process driven role that requires a creative, solution driven individual. The role is responsible for the effective handling of all business activities that fall within the department. Suttons International is a global business and our job titles are standardised over all regions. Our Operation Supervisors have full responsibility for the team and report into the Head of Operations. Liaising directly with Customers, providing them with global logistics solutions for the transportation of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous chemicals, from supplier to receiver. Supervision of operations team to ensure all team members are following the Suttons way whilst providing training, feedback and support where necessary. Coordinate activities of international traffic flows in consultation with overseas office and third-party suppliers. Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with all stakeholders in the business with the aim of continuous improvement. Business KPIs to be positively maintained with any issues identified and corrective actions implemented. The role is part of the Regional Operations Team, reporting into the Regional Head of Operations, working closely with the Planning, Commercial and Technical Teams along with a range of pre-qualified suppliers to ensure all customer requirements are fulfilled successfully. Required Experience Good understanding of aspects of multi-modal logistics operations with particular focus on chemical and petro-chemical sectors Line Management experience with a minimum of 4 Direct Reports including managing team and individual performance, development, training, disciplinary, recruitment and onboarding Management of 3rd Party Service suppliers such as Hauliers, Rail Freight, Container Shipping Process Management and Continuous Improvement Tank container industry experience (preferred) Knowledge of IMDG regulations (preferred) Personal Qualities Ideally you will be self-driven, results orientated with a clear focus on delivering a high quality service.
