Overview

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is rated as an outstandingly well-led Trust by the CQC and is committed to innovation and transformation. We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the CAMHS Crisis and Enhanced Home Treatment Team (CCETT), as part of our Specialist Services division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of child and adolescent psychiatry. The role is full-time at 10PAs per week, with an additional PA as part of recruitment and retention. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share and part time, with scope for hybrid working as agreed with the Clinical Director.


Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive psychiatric services for children and young people with complex needs.
* Hold medical responsibility for the above population.
* Provide consultant psychiatric input into the various CCETT pathways.
* Be an Approved Clinician under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and be willing to undertake training and assessments when appropriate. Maintain Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act.
* Be part of the consultant CAMHS on-call rota out of hours and contribute to cross-cover arrangements as agreed with CAMHS consultant psychiatrists. While on-call, offer expertise and support to trainees on-call where necessary.
* Work independently and autonomously as a specialist offering leadership in CAMHS-based services. Supervision and mentoring opportunities are provided within this post if needed.
* Work clinically with children, young people and their families/carers and other allied professionals.
* Provide a lead role in the assessment of children and young people referred to the service.
* Be involved in the assessment and management of urgent and routine referrals.
* Participate in devising plans of action using a variety of therapeutic approaches and support their implementation in partnership with parents/carers.

Person Specification


Qualifications and Eligibility

Essential
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice
* Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing
* Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completing
* Approved under Section 12(2) or able to achieve within 3 months of completing
* MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
* DBS clearance

Desirable

* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
* Willingness to engage with further training in child psychiatry
* Additional clinical qualifications
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice

Clinical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT, or other routes such as CESR Fellowship
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
* Widespread and detailed experience of assessment and management of patients
* Ability to offer expert clinical independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Desirable
* Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within NHS or comparable service
