Role Purpose Provide senior technical leadership in delivering Protection & Control (P&C) engineering within the UK Transmission & Distribution sector. Act as a technical authority, lead engineer on multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and innovative design deliverables. Key Responsibilities Lead technical delivery of substation P&C designs (11kV-400kV, with focus on 132kV+), including acting as Lead Project Engineer. Produce and approve detailed design packages, protection studies, relay settings, and technical specifications in line with ENA/BS/IEC/IEEE and client standards. Undertake consultancy and FEED studies, prepare technical reports, and support proposals/tenders. Act as CDAE (TP137) and Protection Settings Engineer (TP141) on National Grid projects where required. Ensure compliance with CDM, health & safety, environmental, and quality standards. Support capability growth of the P&C function, mentoring engineers, developing processes/tools, and driving safety and technical excellence. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
