Role
The role of the Area Sales Manager Construction Plant & Tool Hire will involve:
Field sales role, selling a distributed range of construction plant & tool hire, predominantly small plant such as mixers, saws, trench rammers etc. (huge portfolio) also selling battery operated power tools and groundcare etc.
80% construction plant sales, 20% groundcare equipment into end users such as construction contraction contractors, civils contractors, groundworkers, commercial landscaping etc.
Promoting household brands such as; Husqvarna, Honda, Dewalt, Stihl etc.
Circa £2.5m ledger for each area
Responsible for approx. 100+ plant hire customers on patch, each with an average turnover of £10,000, but can be £50,000+
Technical role, need to understand mechanics, tools, battery operated tools and machinery etc.
Multiple customer sites visits daily
Responsibilities
* Field sales: selling construction plant & tool hire portfolio
* Manage a portfolio of approximately 100+ customers
* Promote household brands and manage a £2.5m ledger per area
* Perform multiple site visits daily
* Maintain technical knowledge of tools and machinery
Qualifications
* 2-3 years proven track record of construction field sales success
* New business hunter, proactive attitude
* Construction hire industry experience preferred; plant hire, tool hire, groundcare hire, commercial landscaping products
* Experience with builders merchant or distributors
* Preferable formal sales training
* Mechanically minded, physically fit
* Career oriented, seeking longevity
* Contacts within plant hire companies useful (not required)
