From planning and geoenvironmental consultancy, expertise extends to demolition, remediation, drilling and grouting and civil engineering projects.\n\nJob Details\n\nThey are looking for a dynamic Engineer to join the geoenvironmental consultancy teams based in Durham. You will have post graduate experience in geoenvironmental or geotechnical consulting,@2 years\n\nTo be successful in your application you must demonstrate:\n\n * A strong academic background in a relevant subject e.g., Engineering Geology/Environmental Engineering with knowledge of both geotechnical engineering and contaminated land risk assessment\n\n * Working towards chartership/achieved chartership with a relevant professional body\n\n * Experience in carrying out Site Investigations\n\n * A good understanding of contaminated land regulatory and legislative framework\n\n * A good knowledge of the principal soil and rock strata encountered in the UK and are able to log samples using the descriptions contained within BS EN ISO (phone number removed)&2: 2018, BS EN ISO 14689: 2018 and BS:5930:2015+A1:2020\n\n * Experience in undertaking factual and interpretative Phase I & II assessments\n\n * Basic computer literacy and experience with standard MS packages such as MS Word and MS Excel.
Knowledge of CAD and Holebase desirable.\n\n * Experience in undertaking cover soil and gas protection measures verification is desirable.\n\nKey Tasks:\n\n * Supervision of site investigations.\n\n * Preparation of risk assessments and method statements\n\n * Management of health and safety on site.\n\n * Soil / rock logging to relevant British Standards.\n\n * Collection of in situ data and geotechnical/environmental sampling.\n\n * Groundwater/ground gas monitoring.\n\n * Writing of / input into factual and interpretive reports – e.g., Desk Studies, Preliminary Risk Assessments, Phase 2 Ground Investigation Reports, Mining Risk Assessments, Hazardous Ground Gas Risk Assessments, Remediation Strategies etc.\n\n.Conditions of Employment\n\n * Full-time position based in Durham office / on-site / home working.\n\n * 35 hours per week.\n\n * 21 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays with the option to purchase up to an additional 5 days.\n\n * Death in Service.\n\n * 5% Employers pension contribution, and 3% Employee Salary Sacrifice.\n\n * Must have a full, clean driving licence.\n\n * Mileage rates to be paid inline with HMRC fuel rates.\n\n * Pool vehicle available for business use.\n\n * Salary negotiable, dependent on experience.\n\n * Access to the Employee Assistance Program for you and your family members.\n\nAccess to the Company Benefits+, offering a range of salary sacrifice schemes and instant discounts
