Shropshire Council is looking for a proactive individual to join our effective Finance Business Partnering team as an Assistant Finance Business Partner.
Responsibilities
* Provide budget holders with high-quality advice, analysis, interpretation and information to facilitate effective decision making and performance management.
* Deliver expert business‑related advice on financial management, accounting issues and value for money to senior managers and service managers.
* Support strategic policy development and ensure a high standard of financial discipline is embedded in decision‑making processes.
* Achieve high customer satisfaction levels and make a demonstrable difference to the delivery of Council services.
* Deliver excellence in reporting, analysis and financial control, applying best practice across client service areas.
* Ensure that financial information is collated and reported accurately.
Qualifications
* AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business/accounting degree.
* Preferably CCAB qualified or working toward a CCAB qualification.
* Knowledge and understanding of local government finance.
* Experience providing financial advice and support to senior management within a large or complex organisation.
* Proactive in identifying trends, opportunities for change, and solutions to budget problems.
