Head of CSR, DE&I and EVP

Role Description

The purpose of this role is to work with the Director, People Experience COE to define the AzUK Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Inclusion and Employee value proposition (EVP) strategies, and then take responsibility for defining and delivering the execution roadmap to operationalise these strategies; building and maintaining an inclusive culture that can be communicated both internally and externally and promotes Allianz UK contribution to social impact and community causes.

Through collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will understand the needs and challenges of the business, as well as the external operating environment, and use this insight to promote inclusion and engagement amongst stakeholders, whilst enhancing the company’s reputation and contribution to a more sustainable future for our people, customers, and society.

Location

This role can be based in either of our Bournemouth, Guildford or London offices.

This is a Hybrid working role with the expectation that 50% of your time is spent in the office and one of your days will need to be on either a Monday or Friday.

Please note that this role also requires regular travel with at least one day per month where you will be required to travel into the London office.

Salary Information

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

* Collaborates with the Director, People Experience COE to define the overall AzUK CSR, Inclusion and EVP strategies.
* Understands the business strategy and works in close partnership with internal stakeholders and external partners (inc. NGOs, industry bodies, and government agencies) to design and deliver the execution roadmap that aligns to strategy and addresses business needs and priorities (e.g. using insights from employee networks).
o Collates, analyses, and synthesises varied internal and external data sources at a UK and Group level to inform AzUK execution roadmap and influence outside of AzUK on strategic initiatives and best practice e.g. Group and industry bodies.
* Owns the design, delivery, and maintenance of AzUK wide CSR Inclusion and EVP programmes, platforms, events, policies, and processes on behalf of AzUK and ensures impact measures are assessed to drive continuous improvement:
o Manages and activates AzUK charity and sponsorship partnerships, in line with relevant legal and risk / control frameworks, to achieve defined target ambitions
o Defines and oversees employee volunteering framework and processes with appropriate impact measurement to assess our social impact through volunteering whilst aligning with Group and the Sustainability AzUK teams
o Defines, owns, and maintains CSR, Inclusion and EVP policies, standards, and ambitions and delivers progress and impact reporting against the same.
o Promotes AzUK commitment to CSR Inclusion and EVP topics, both internally and externally, through effective storytelling of actions and impact.
* Coordinates with Group to understand Group-led initiatives and programmes, relating to CSR Inclusion and EVP and takes responsibility for locally activating these into AzUK e.g. Group-led Inclusion and CSR ambitions as well as aligning with the Group EVP play book.
* Facilitates the sourcing, contracting and ongoing relationship management of external delivery partners, in line with Procurement and Risk and Control frameworks, to deliver high-quality CSR Inclusion and EVP deliverables across AzUK:
o Leads the process for the identification and selection of AzUK charity partner on a cyclical basis.
o Works alongside Talent Acquisition with any external delivery partners on EVP
* Allocates work through dotted-line reporting structures maintaining delivery oversight and providing coaching and support to attain high standards of delivery.
* Challenges, supports, and influences the business to engage in CSR Inclusion and EVP topics providing guidance and counsel at all levels to integrate these topics into our business and culture.
* Develops and owns relevant risk, control, and governance measures associated with CSR, Inclusion and EVP deliveries in line with the broader People & Culture risk and control framework.
* Prepares reporting to Group, AzUK Executive Committee, AzUK Board, and other stakeholders as required on the topics of CSR Inclusion and EVP as required.
* Owns and manages central CSR, Inclusion and EVP budgets ensuring fairness of budget allocation across AzUK.
* Uses external insights and thought leadership to inform the design and delivery of CSR, Inclusion and EVP execution roadmap.

Essential Skills

Experience

* Significant experience of defining CSR, Inclusion and EVP strategies and operationalising these through definition and delivery of execution roadmaps within a similar sized and complex organisation.
* Highly effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to influence and drive action across all levels of the organisation inc. at ExCo and Board level.
* Strong relationship management experience, with both internal and external stakeholders, using collaborative and professional approaches to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes in a cross-functional / matrixed environment.
* Ability to analyse and interpret both internal and external data / trends to inform the definition of strategy and execution roadmaps that are aligned to strategic priorities and stakeholder need.
* Strength in scoping, planning, prioritising, and executing multiple initiatives concurrently whilst managing associated risks and controls.
* Familiarity with working in a regulated industry and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and needs.
* Proven ability to inspire teams, including those outside of direct reporting lines, using a customer-centric mindset to deliver business outcomes.
* Empathetic, inclusive and collaborative leader, who listens, builds trust and can motivate individuals and organisations to embrace change.

Technical skills

* In-depth knowledge and expertise within the fields of CSR / Inclusion and EVP with good understanding of charity / NGO governance and legalities, Inclusion legislative requirements
* In depth knowledge and experience in activating the local activation of a Global EVP with a purpose of attracting and retaining top talent in AZUK through driving engagement, a feeling of belonging and mutual pride and success.
* Passion and commitment to be a force for good; seeking to continuously improve People Experience within organisations by initiating and leading change that leads to positive action.

Desirable Skills

* Experience of working in an agile / product-led model is desirable.
* Formal qualifications are not essential but a professional qualification in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or your areas of expertise is preferred.
