We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking house keeper to join our fantastic Medical Ward E3 within the Medicine Division. The ward consists of 35 beds, both male and female.
Some of our patients have memory problems, some may have a diagnosis of dementia and some may experience delirium. It therefore takes a special kind of house keeper to show patience, dedication, understanding and compassion. Are these the qualities you have?

We have high standards on E3 and we like our ward to be tidy & clutter free. We strive to create a calming atmosphere and a welcoming and caring environment for our patients. This post is not to be confused with a domestic. We have fantastic domestic already. This is specifically a house keeping job. Main duties of the job
Communications
* To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
* To carry out some minor clerical tasks, as required.
* To carry out some administrative related tasks for the benefit of the ward
* To communicate effectively when giving/receiving verbal and written information.
* Helping to actively answer the telephone during your afternoon shift
Responsibility for Patient Care
* To maintain confidentiality of patient information.
* To carry out any tasks required to maintain the safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the ward area.
* To carry out duties as required, to meet aspects of ward catering (i.e - to help give out the patients meals and help patients fill in their menu request for the following day)
* To carry out routine ward maintenance activities.

Job responsibilities
* As the house keeper for Ward E3, you will be expected to co-ordinate non clinical ward services, the work will include:-
* Talking to and reassuring patients
* Keeping the ward clean & tidy
* Serving and clearing away meals & preparing snacks and drinks
* Some clerical and admin tasks (i.e - documenting on appropriate dietary charts / laminating)
* Documenting the patients hydration on the hospital computer (patient track)
* Datix any staffing issues of the day
* Ordering non clinical supplies
* Equipment maintenance any broken equipment sending it to medical appliances to be fixed
* Putting away stock & laundry deliveries

If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £21.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
