Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week
Liberton High School is a non-denominational secondary school with a roll of approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with our associated primaries of Craigour Park, Gilmerton, Liberton, and Prestonfield to serve our local community in South East Edinburgh. We have a rising roll projected to peak at approximately 1100 within the next four years. We are moving into a new, purpose-built Community Campus, due to be completed in Spring 2026.
The leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, and a Business Manager. The school has 65 teaching staff and 26 support staff. We are a successful school, as reflected in our attainment journey over the past 5 years.
We are seeking a creative and innovative individual to join our Social Subjects Faculty as a teacher of Social Subjects with qualifications in Modern Studies and either History or Geography. We encourage you to bring your skills, knowledge, and experience to support our pupils' success, and to introduce new ideas and strategies suitable for our learners. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Candidates who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years will require an Overseas Criminal Record Check. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
