A2 Business Development Manager

BM Steel Group, a prestigious and forward-thinking UK steel stockholder part of Marubeni Itochu Steel, is looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join the BM Architectural team looking after sales of A2 non combustible systems to the Commercial-Residential market.

The role requires a strong sales and technical background in cladding, decking, balcony-work with a proven track record in specification, technical support, and B2B sales, working with fire officers, local authorities, housing associations, architects, designers, developers, contractors, and fabricators. Key Responsibilities:

* Leveraging your technical experience, you will work with the sales team to help deliver small, medium, and large residential and commercial high-rise projects, providing technical support, quotes and project management to help win and deliver the project.
* Identify and secure new B2B opportunities within residential, high-rise, and balcony applications, focusing on local authorities, housing associations, architects, designers, developers, contractors and fabricators.
* Utilising your in-depth industry knowledge to promote and position the company's range of A2 fire-rated and composite solutions, providing CPDs, training, and attending industry events.
* Collaborating with internal teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
* Taking charge of building strong and lasting relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders, while maintaining an outstanding level of customer satisfaction.
* Analysing market trends and competitor activities to provide valuable insights for continuous improvement and a competitive edge.
* Working with the Sales Manager, you will help support future innovation and improvements within existing and new products.
* Utilise and maintain CRM system for customers and projects/opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

* A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in technical sales and business development, preferably (but not essential) within the high-rise commercial and or residential, focused on composite and aluminium decking and cladding industries.
* Experience within the balcony and balustrade industries would be advantageous, but not essential
* Technical knowledge and understanding of the applications, standards, and products is essential.
* A strong understanding of B2B sales processes and excellent negotiation skills.
* A proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to contribute significantly to the division's growth.
* Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, enabling you to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.
* A collaborative approach, working with other colleagues to assist cross-selling in your projects
* An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for exploring new opportunities and driving innovation.
