Overview
We are recruiting an exceptional Supported Living Manager to lead a semi-independent supported accommodation service for vulnerable young people aged 16–17 in London.
The service supports young people with complex needs, care experience, and migrant backgrounds, delivering trauma-informed, person-centred care that promotes independence, emotional resilience, and successful transitions into adulthood. The provision operates with 24/7 staffing, structured key working, and robust safeguarding frameworks.
This is a senior leadership role and is suitable only for candidates with previous management experience in supported living or children’s services.
Key Responsibilities
*
Overall operational management of a 16–17 semi-independent supported living service
*
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and local authority requirements
*
Provide strong leadership to senior staff, support workers, and key workers
*
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and manage safeguarding referrals and concerns
*
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and support plans
*
Maintain high standards of record-keeping, reporting, and quality assurance
*
Manage staffing, rotas, supervision, appraisals, and performance management
*
Work closely with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and commissioners
*
Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and outcome-focused practice
Essential Requirements
*
Significant experience in a senior or management role within Supported Living, Semi-Independent Accommodation, or Children’s Services
*
Strong working knowledge of Ofsted frameworks for 16–17 supported accommodation
*
Proven experience supporting vulnerable young people with complex needs
*
In-depth understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed care
*
Confident managing staff teams, rotas, supervision, and disciplinary processes
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills
*
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment
*
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
*
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) or equivalent
*
Experience preparing services for Ofsted inspections
*
Background supporting care-experienced young people or migrant communities
*
Knowledge of contextual safeguarding and adolescent development
