We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation
* Support chefs with cooking tasks as needed, following established recipes and guidelines
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
* Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors
* Participate in the setup and serving of meals during catering events or restaurant service
* Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as catering or restaurant work, is preferred
* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills
* Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
* Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed
