Job Role: Security Supervisor
Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 19:00-7:00 - average 42 hours per week
Pay: £14.15 per hour
Location: Liverpool University, Liverpool City Centre
Reporting to: Contract Manager
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced Security Supervisor to join the security team on our prestigious contract with Liverpool University. This is a key role, where you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and service delivery. You will work closely with our on-site teams to ensure a secure and welcoming campus for students, staff, and visitors. This position offers the chance to develop your leadership skills while contributing to a respected and forward‑thinking organisation.
The successful candidate must have a valid SIA Licence. A site vehicle will be provided to enable the supervisor to monitor the performance of security officers across multiple locations.
Duties include:
* Carrying out all duties in accordance with the site assignment instructions (Al’s)
* Carrying out all instructions issued by either the Contracts Manager or the client – Halls Manager
* Responsibility for all operations carried out by shift personnel and/or day security officers
* Delegated authority of the Contract Manager whenever he/she is not on site. All decisions made, and actions authorised, in the Contracts Managers name are to be cleared with him as soon as he/she returns to the site
* Carrying out all training of security personnel in accordance with the training matrix. Ensure all training records are logged and up to date.
* Assisting with other officers with incidents and/or accidents
* Responding to any on-site alarms applicable
* Patrolling of the area checking all access/egress
* Patrolling other sites using a patrol tag system
* Escalating any Security/Health and Safety incidents to the Contracts Manager and working in accordance with the site Assignment Instructions and the customer Standard Operational Procedures
* Welfare visits and appraisals for team members
* Conducting on-site investigations and reports
* Collation of relevant documentation for submission to the Contracts Manager ensuring compliance
Requirements
* Full 5-year employment checkable history
* Valid frontline SIA Licence (Essential)
* Valid UK Driving Licence - with a maximum of 3 points (Essential)
* Good interpersonal and customer relationship skills
* Competent in the use of IT systems
* Good communication and leadership skills
* Understanding of emergency services procedures
* At least 1 year supervisory experience in a similar role & 2 years’ security experience
