Razorblue role:
We're on the lookout for a Management Accountant who's not just good with numbers, but brilliant with them. Our dream candidate is part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), has a sixth sense for balance sheet reconciliations, and can spot a misposted accrual from a mile away. You'll be the kind of person who thrives on month-end madness, loves a tidy ledger, and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo (or a dodgy prepayment). If you're commercially curious, systems-savvy, and ready to roll up your sleeves in a fast-paced finance team - we'd love to meet you
Should you choose to accept, your responsibilities will encompass:
Management Accounts (50%)
* Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss (P&L), balance sheet, and variance analysis.
* Provide insightful financial analysis to explain variances, identify trends, and support continuous business performance improvement.
* Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Support the Finance Director with high-quality management information to aid strategic decision-making.
* Creating and updating schedules for prepayments and accruals on a period basis.
Budgeting & Cost Control (20%)
* Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure costs are accurately captured within the correct accounting period.
* Monitor departmental spend against budget, identifying risks and opportunities.
* Challenge assumptions and highlight material variances to the Finance Director.
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Audit & Compliance (20%)
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards (e.g. IFRS), and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors during year-end audits.
* Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all financial processes.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks through robust control frameworks and proactive issue resolution.
Reporting & Systems (10%)
* Maintain and enhance financial reporting tools and dashboards to improve visibility of key performance indicators.
* Ensure financial systems are updated accurately and efficiently, supporting automation and process optimisation.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to increase reporting accuracy and reduce month-end close timelines.
