We're looking for a Facilities Security Coordinator (Night) to join our team at Northumbria University, supporting a vibrant student accommodation community operating 24/7, 365 days a year.This is more than a security role, it's an opportunity to lead from the front, ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment for residents while coordinating night operations and guiding a dedicated team.What you'll do:Lead and coordinate night shift operations, ensuring consistent service deliveryAct as the primary escalation point for incidents and emergenciesProvide visible, proactive security presence through site patrolsMonitor CCTV systems and manage access control across the siteSupervise, support and coach Facilities Support Officers (FSOs)Deliver excellent customer service through the out-of-hours helpdesk/receptionManage incidents including fire alarms, anti-social behaviour, and welfare concernsMaintain accurate records, logs and incident reportsSupport student wellbeing by offering guidance and signposting when neededContribute to site upkeep, including basic maintenance reporting and caretaking dutiesAssist with student arrivals/departures and summer commercial operationsSupport the on-site café operation when requiredWhat you bring:EssentialValid SIA Licence (Manned Guarding or Door Supervision)At least 2 years' experience in security or a similar operational roleExperience supervising or guiding team membersStrong customer service skills (hospitality, residential, or education preferred)Confident decision-making in high-pressure situationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage conflict and support individuals in sensitive situationsGood organisational skills and basic IT proficiencyDesirableSIA CCTV LicenceExperience in student accommodation or Higher EducationExperience conducting 1:1s or coaching team membersFirst Aid at Work qualificationExperience in 24/7 operational environmentsWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it's a chance to be part of something greater.
