Warehouse Manager – Responsible for supervising all activities of the department including overseeing team performance, expediting the receiving and shipping of goods, and ensuring efficient, effective and organised storage and stock inventory.
Responsibilities
* Proactively implement, promote, communicate and police health and safety standards and targets with a goal of zero accidents or near misses per month.
* Fully manage the warehouse and chemicals team including playing an active role in recruitment, performance management and employee development.
* Improve the general skillset of team members and bridge skill gaps as identified.
* Identify weekly and monthly throughput by liaising with production planners and heads of departments.
* Supervise daily activities, use A3 methodology to close out customer complaints, manage inventory control systems, internal system performance, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and shipping with a target to reduce complaints to zero.
* Schedule and oversee the team to meet business demands and manage flow and quality of work to maximise efficiency and minimise costs, such as absence, overtime, and double handling.
* Identify, cost, plan and implement department improvement projects using Pareto principles.
* Manage inspection of equipment, tools, and machinery and oversee general maintenance as needed.
* Meet regularly with the team to review, analyse, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
* Oversee and manage logistics used to transport products to customers, communicating with freight companies and drivers to ensure efficient delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications – Essential
* Proven experience in a warehouse lead role within a manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience of implementing change and managing improvement projects to maximise utilisation and workflow for a growing business.
* Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedures and policy.
* Proficient management/use of warehouse inventory systems.
* Proficient and proven implementation of warehouse storage systems.
* Excellent time and commercial awareness.
* Ability to work with all levels of company staff.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Numeracy skills and an understanding of finance for stock management.
* Proven Health & Safety skills.
* FLT Licence.
Skills & Qualifications – Desirable
* Experience using SAP / SAP Hana or an equivalent ERP system.
* IOSH Trained.
* ILM Trained.
* First Aid at Work.
* Lean / Six Sigma.
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum. 32 days holiday plus benefits.
