Overview
Join to apply for the Community Mental Health Practitioner role at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Are you an autonomous Mental Health Nurse looking for a new role in the historic market town of Witney, West Oxfordshire? Do you have extensive experience of working in mental health services and understand the challenges that the Adult care group can bring?
North and West AMHT have an opportunity for a Band 6 RMN to be part of a well established multidisciplinary team on a full time basis. The team is supportive and committed to delivering high quality patient care; shifts cover 07:00 to 21:00 (7 days/week). The post holder will primarily work 9:00–17:00, with flexibility to cover out-of-hours shifts when required. The post holder will need to travel around the county to offer interventions to patients and carers. The area is rural with limited public transport, so access to transport is essential.
Responsibilities and expectations include delivering assessment and treatment within the AMHT, coordinating care for patients with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses, working autonomously with a caseload, and contributing to group work such as MBT/CBT-based interventions. The MDT includes medics, psychological therapists, social workers, OTs, RMNs and support workers, with embedded third-sector workers to support employment, housing and social needs.
The services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes, aiming to provide care as close to home as possible. Our vision is that you will experience: “Outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team.” Our values are: “Caring, safe and excellent.”
Benefits include: excellent opportunities for career progression; access to tailored learning and development; 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising with continuous service); NHS discounts; competitive pension; lease car scheme; cycle to work scheme; Employee Assistance Programme; Mental Health First Aiders; staff accommodation (wait lists may apply); staff networking and support groups via our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team.
