We are seeking a Hydraulics Application Engineer to join an growing special purpose vehicle manufacturer who are continuing to expand their presence in the European market.

Salary: c£60000 + benefits
Location: Lancashire
Reporting directly to Head of Engineering, as a Hydraulic Project Engineer you will be responsible for supporting new product development and new product introduction of all hydraulic products and systems utilised within the companies range of vehicles used within the European market. This will be a broad role, interfacing with all members of the global engineering teams, other internal stakeholders and external third parties delivering consultancy, inspection, testing and notified body services.
Duties:
1. The responsibilities of the Hydraulic Engineer role include carrying out the following tasks relating to hydraulic system engineering, relating to product development process and include engineering approval:
2. Support new product development aligned with product manager to create accurate product definitions
3. Identify and define actual customer demands and research new hydraulic technical solutions and benchmark competitive products
4. Influence hydraulic system design or products for European products working closely with global R&D teams
5. Support hydraulic systems design and test during R&D / prototype process
6. Problem investigation, analysis and resolution of product failures or customer/field service team concerns
Key Skills / Experience:
* Applications are sought from experienced Hydraulic Project or System Design Engineers who would relish the opportunity to join an expanding UK R&D team and influence the strategy of our nominated product group.
* HND/Degree (engineering, science discipline)
* Hydraulics system design & development experience related to off highway/construction vehicles, agricultural vehicles or commercial vehicles
* Highly capable of understanding, specifying and designing complex hydraulic systems from a basis of first principle knowledge/competency
* Awareness of new hydraulic technical development trends
* Ability to manage the test, development and validation of hydraulic components in both the field and laboratory
* Able/willing to travel UK and overseas to meet with customers and corporate R&D and manufacturing facilities
