Autism Support Assistant – Sunderland

We’re on the lookout for an Autism Support Assistant who can bring warmth, patience and a sense of calm to every day. This role involves supporting pupils with autism and complex learning needs in a nurturing, structured environment where staff work closely as a team.
You’ll help pupils develop social and communication skills, manage sensory needs, and build confidence through consistent, positive support.
You’ll be brilliant for this role if you:
1. Have experience supporting children or young people with autism or communication needs
2. Understand the importance of structure and consistency
3. Can stay calm under pressure and see the person behind the behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
