Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Chronic Pain team in a dedicated Chronic Pain post for a fixed term (3 months).
The working conditions in this post are equitable to the current consultants.
Applicants should possess FRCS or equivalent qualification, be fully registered with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register/obtained Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
Responsibilities
* Work as part of an MDT team and cover Pain clinics and theatres at our sites.
* Work flexibly and cover joint MDT clinics alongside a psychologist as per service requirements.
* Support the delivery of a high‑quality Multidisciplinary Team pain service, meeting local referral to treatment targets and waiting times.
* Take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
* Participate in departmental and trust teaching and clinical governance and audit activities.
* Assist the Trust in achieving its commitments to the National Plan for modernisation of the NHS, including the 18‑week patient pathway.
Job Plan
A part‑time appointment with 8 Programmed Activities (PAs) is available. The Job Plan will be discussed and agreed on appointment and is subject to review.
Person Specification
Essential
* MBBS or equivalent, FRCA or equivalent; must be on the Specialist Register of the GMC or within 6 months of CCT (gaining specialist registration) at the time of interview.
* FRCS or equivalent qualification, fully registered with the GMC, on the Specialist Register or having obtained CCT.
Desirable
* Life support provider (ALS or ATLS, APLS or MOET).
