The Contracts Manager role sits within the GKN Procurement Solutions team with the responsibility to directly provide Commodity Directors, Managers and Buyers with the required specialist commercial and contractual skills for management of contract preparation, negotiation, process and policy and to provide the necessary business and contractual expertise to advise and support the day-to-day operations of the business, as well as providing guidance and support to the strategic decision making of the Commodity Management team. The Contracts Manager also ensures relevant GKN Legal policy and process is promulgated, maintained, updated and adhered to within the Commodity Management function. This role entails operating at a senior level with a high degree of autonomy in addition to supporting, coaching and developing contractual skills within the Commodity function. How You'll Contribute The Contracts Manager is responsible for the management of GKN's new and existing contracts with suppliers and flow down of relevant Legal policy within GKN Aerospace. In addition, the Contracts Manager has the responsibility to: Oversee and manage preparation, negotiation and signature process of GKN Indirect procurement and supply contracts with suppliers; Manage preparation, negotiation and signature of confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements relevant to the business requirements and strategy of the Indirect Procurement function; Provide relevant guidance, support and advice to the team to progress and resolve claims, queries and disputes between GKN and suppliers; Provide an interface between the Indirect Commodity Management function and Legal function; Conduct and/or oversee contract reviews and contract negotiations with suppliers; Preparation and negotiation of GKN claim documentation, new Business Agreements (purchasing contracts) with suppliers, and Contract amendments to existing Business Agreement (purchasing contracts). Provide advice and guidance for the Indirect Commodity Management team on general contract administration. Provide guidance and training for Commodity Management team on contract drafting and negotiation within the relevant scope of GKN Aerospace processes and procedures. Provide guidance and support to the Commodity Management team with preparation and negotiation of various special contractual documents. Ensuring contract preparation, negotiation and signature process are aligned with GKN Legal policy and is adhered to within the team; Managing the contract process and ensuring that appropriate contracts are in place with all suppliers Managing the creation of appropriate processes, contract processes and terms and conditions (contract templates) to meet agreed business objectives and value creation targets. Holding contract reviews to progress contract negotiations. Analysing suppliers response to GKN Aerospace terms and conditions and work with suppliers to reduce GKN's business risk through rigorous negotiation to obtain the best possible position for GKN. Supporting the training, development and performance of Indirect procurement function individuals with contractual and commercial knowledge and expertise. Working with Legal to ensure policy, process and documentation are cascaded to all required areas and that all team members are following the same strategic direction. Minimum of 5 years procurement contract preparation and negotiation experience with 3 years in Aerospace industry preferred. Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives. Ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & to lead and close out negotiations.
