Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Ward Receptionist within the Medicine & Emergency Care Division. The working hours will be 30 hours per week, from 0800 to 1600, Tuesday to Friday.
Primary Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive clerical co‑ordination and receive patients across the Medicine & Emergency Care divisional wards.
* Maintain patient notes and use systems such as Open Ward, Careflow and Nervecentre, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
* Provide front‑of‑house face‑to‑face receptionist service to all patients and visitors.
* Record data accurately onto the patient administration system to manage booking of designated follow‑up clinics after discharge.
Essential Criteria
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, including English & Maths at grades A‑C (or equivalent) Functional skills level 2.
* Relevant clerical experience using a telephone in a busy environment.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
* Effective written and verbal communication, teamwork, and understanding of confidentiality.
* Ability to use a VDU/Keyboard and understanding of office procedures.
Desirable Criteria
* Completed secondary school education.
* Previous experience within a healthcare environment and customer‑care experience.
* Knowledge of PAS system.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.

Compensation & Details
Salary: £24,465 per annum (pro rata). Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Part‑time. Band: 2.
