Job Description
PAY AWARD PENDING.
This is a term-time post; the salary will be pro-rata'd to the hours worked.
The post is fixed term until 26th June 2026.
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.00pm (30 minutes unpaid break).
The Scottish Government emphasizes that children must have access to highly qualified staff with expertise in early childhood learning and development, especially for children facing disadvantages. The role aims to provide establishments with an additional graduate—either a qualified teacher or a graduate-level practitioner—to enhance early learning and childcare quality.
This supernumerary role is not included in the staffing ratios of ELCCs. To support the Raising Attainment Delivery Plan, post holders are expected to influence practice, work with small groups, provide one-to-one support focusing on literacy, numeracy, and health and wellbeing.
The role involves planning engaging learning experiences, observing and responding to children's needs, and assessing their progress to ensure positive outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join during a period of development and expansion within the Early Years Sector.
If you possess the skills and experience to support high-quality early learning and close the attainment gap, we encourage your application.
