Otto James Consulting supports a well-established and successful international retailer that is expanding and seeking their next Group Finance Manager.
This position requires a talented, practice-trained, ambitious accountant with strong attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving reporting systems and supporting transformation projects.
The Role
1. Take ownership of key aspects of the Group's monthly and annual consolidation processes.
2. Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Group's consolidation system.
3. Build productive relationships with other Group functions such as Group Tax, Group Treasury, Group FPA, and the Global Statutory & Compliance teams.
4. Perform analytical reviews at the Group level and provide insights to senior management.
5. Handle statutory reporting for the Group (IFRS) and subsidiaries (FRS102), liaising with the Group audit team. Support ad hoc projects as needed.
6. Produce monthly financial reports and present accounts to Directors.
7. Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly flash reports and present results to management.
8. Partner with the Finance Director to drive growth and profitability.
9. Coordinate cost-saving initiatives and productivity improvements with operations.
10. Implement best practices in financial planning and analysis, including month-end routines, processes, systems, and tools.
11. Maintain internal controls, system access controls, segregation of duties, and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
12. Drive working capital initiatives and monitor cash flow to support investments.
Attributes
1. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 3 years of experience.
2. Strong analytical skills, proficient with Excel.
3. Ability to challenge strategies and financial plans to align with business objectives.
4. Experience in implementing new systems and processes in a scaling business.
5. Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
Salary & Benefits
Basic salary circa £60,000 to £65,000 plus benefits:
