We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Career Manager to lead our Careers & World of Work Team and drive the delivery of high-quality, impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) for our diverse student population.
As Career Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring students and apprentices receive expert guidance to support progression into employment, higher education, apprenticeships and further training.
Key Responsibilities
·The Career Manager will lead on the development, coordination and delivery of an outstanding careers service, ensuring the following:
·Delivery of high-quality impartial advice and guidance to current and prospective students and apprentices, including post-interview action planning and secure record management.
·Leadership of a professional, customer-focused team providing timely and responsive support through drop-in sessions, telephone, live chat, email and CEIAG events.
·Management of Work Experience & Placement Coordinators to secure high-quality placements for FE students on Study Programmes and T Levels, or suitable on-site alternatives where required.
·Contribution to the continuous development of the CRC Careers Programme with focus on Gatsby Benchmarks 5–8.
·Monitoring compliance with the World of Work Policy, safeguarding, health & safety processes and correct data entry on central systems.
·Partnership working with curriculum teams, Student Services and external organisations to support progression to HE, employment and internal progression, including UCAS support.
·Leadership of the Take Your Place project to support eligible learners into Higher Education.
·Representation at college events including open evenings, careers fairs, enrolment and promotional activities.
·Production of detailed reports for SMT and external bodies.
·Budget management and financial accountability.
·Implementation of quality assurance and continuous improvement strategies.
The successful Career Manager will ensure compliance with Matrix Standards, Gatsby Benchmarks and the Institute of Career Guidance Code of Ethics while fostering a culture of excellence and student-centred practice.
You Will Have:
·Proven experience in careers management or guidance within an education setting
·Strong leadership and people management skills
·In-depth knowledge of CEIAG frameworks and quality standards
·Experience working with diverse student groups
·Excellent organisational and communication abilities
·Commitment to inclusion and widening participation
