SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Sheffield Agency: PK Education Pay Rate: £100 – £110 per day Contract: Full-time / Part-time (Term-time only) Start Date: ASAP About the Role PK Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within one of our supportive partner schools in Sheffield. This role involves providing high-quality support to children with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work either 1:1 with a pupil or within small groups, depending on school requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans. Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and engagement in lessons. Help pupils regulate emotions and manage transitions throughout the school day. Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs of individual learners. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals where needed. Maintain accurate records of progress and provide feedback to staff. Requirements Experience supporting children with SEN (school, childcare, care, or similar settings). A caring, patient, and flexible approach to working with young people. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships. A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through PK Education).
