Role Purpose
Manage critical Quality Governance activities of planning and leading the Internal Audit of our Quality Management System. This includes performing Audits & managing any resultant Correction Actions to drive continual improvement of our business processes. Additionally, providing support to all Quality Governance objectives.
Senior Quality Governance Engineer
This opportunity, based at our Prestwick site offers:
1. 37 hour working week (half day Friday)

Responsibilities
14. Planning, allocating audit resource and conducting Quality Assurance audits of the company Quality Management System in support of the Quality Governance Team Leader.
15. Manage and maintain all customer and regulatory authority approvals (including AS9100, EASA/CAA Part 21G, Nadcap).
16. Regularly report on the overall effectiveness of the Quality Governance system, identify areas of improvement and ensure corrective/preventative actions are discharged.
17. Control and issue of company Quality procedures, instructions and documentation.
18. Support the creation and maintenance of Quality Plans for new customers to ensure all customer requirements are identified and achieved.
19. Project management of new approval activities.
20. Authorise Quality approvals allocated to personnel utilising certification stamps.
21. Investigation and co-ordination of introduction of new Quality Governance systems.
22. Identification, preparation and delivery (where applicable) of Quality related training material.
23. Provide specialist Quality Governance engineering support to IPTs and other Functions (including investigation support).
24. Assist in developing technical and professional skills of the Quality Governance Team.
25. Manage approval of Delegated Source inspection on applicable programmes.
26. Assist in the deployment of the Quality Policy to reflect the Spirit Global Strategy and regulatory requirements.
27. Co-ordinate the generation and deployment of Quality Metrics to support the business.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
28. Having worked in a quality and/or engineering related role for a period of at least 5 years
29. Experience of relatable manufacturing processes, able to walk the processes and effectively verify all key requirements & process parameters.
30. Preferably be qualified to HNC / HND level in Quality or related Engineering discipline and/or have relevant experience in Quality Management.
31. Preferably AS9100 Lead Auditor qualified through recognised certification body
32. Preferably conversant with industry regulatory authority approvals & certification requirements (AS9100, CAA production organisation approvals & Nadcap).
33. Experience of root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) & Continuous Improvement methodology. Knowledge & ability to deploy the Quality Toolset.
34. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface at all levels.
35. Ability to work on own initiative and be an effective member of a team.
Decision Making Authority
36. The job holder is likely to have some responsibility for direct reports, indirect reports and contract staff. Will generally be responsible for the leadership of others, for co-ordinating or supervising a team member or team; scheduling hours, checking results, taking actions to ensure quality standards are met and conducting performance assessments on others.
37. Decisions which affect their own job will occasionally require approval. Decisions which impact on a work team, or a department will also occasionally require approval by the Team Leader. Decisions which impact on other projects or functions will require approval from the Team Leader. In addition, decisions which impact on the customer or suppliers will require some approval from the Team Leader.
