Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our outpatient services team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide expert psychiatric care to children and adolescents in outpatient settings. This is an opportunity to make a significant difference in young people's lives and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health difficulties in outpatient services.
2. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients.
3. Conducting psychiatric assessments and developing individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice and guidelines.
4. Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Registrars, and Trainees.
5. Participating in clinical governance, service development, and research activities to improve care quality.
Requirements:
1. Full GMC registration and a license to practice in the UK.
2. Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych or FRCPsych) or an equivalent qualification.
3. Significant experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry within outpatient settings.
4. Leadership skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, adolescents, and families sensitively.
6. Commitment to professional development and staying updated on child and adolescent mental health.
