Job Role:Assistant Accountant - FMCG Closing Date:15:00 on 1 May 2026 Salary:Competitive We are currently recruiting for a keen, driven, and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team within a FMCG environment. As part of a wider group, this role offers excellent exposure to multiple aspects of finance. Reporting to the Financial Accountant the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties Key responsibilities Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis Support group reporting requirements and intercompany reconciliations Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records Bank reconciliations, covering multiple currencies Payroll cover Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the site Work closely with operations to analyse manufacturing performance and costs Assist with accounts payable, receivable, and cash management Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments Support external audit and ensure compliance with group policies and financial controls What you will need 5 GCSEs grade A-C, or equivalent, to include Math and English Studying towards (or planning to pursue) a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) Strong interest in pursuing a career in finance within a FMCG environment Highly motivated, with a proactive and hands-on approach Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work to tight deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems is desirable What We Offer: Opportunity to work within an established FMCG business as part of a larger group Broad exposure to financial reporting, costing, and operational finance Study support and clear progression pathways Collaborative and supportive team environment Competitive salary and benefits package Hours of work: 39 hours per week.
