Job Title: Senior CAD Engineer

Role Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior CAD Engineer to support a major infrastructure programme. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in AutoCAD and experience working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary drawing office environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of a wide range of technical drawings, supporting construction logistics, site operations, and safety planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update as-built underground services records in line with Series 300 specifications.
Produce and revise site layout and traffic management plans, including roads, walkways, and vehicle routing.
Develop and maintain Hazard Plans, working closely with Environmental Planning and Health & Safety teams.
Deliver swept path analysis for a variety of site and contractor vehicle types.
Support the design of car parks, contractor compounds, and other key site infrastructure.
Create drawings to support Planned Vehicle-Pedestrian Interface (PVPI) strategies.
Manage drawing control procedures including versioning, issuing, and archiving in accordance with established QA standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Advanced AutoCAD user with strong 2D and 3D drafting skills.
Proven experience working in a technical drawing office environment, ideally on large-scale construction or civil engineering projects.
Sound knowledge of orthographic projection techniques, including the production of plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings.
Clear understanding of drawing standards, document control, and best practices in drawing issuance and revision management.
Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate with engineering, site, and safety teams.
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with infrastructure project environments, particularly in regulated sectors (e.g., energy, utilities, or nuclear).
Experience using AutoTURN or similar tools for swept path analysis.
Qualification in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent).
Understanding of construction logistics, temporary works planning, or compound phasing is advantageous.
