Communication Facilitator
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our amazing team at Speaking Space (Romsey) Ltd. You will join our team of friendly and motivated staff including Communication Facilitators & Lead Facilitators working within the day service.
Speaking Space is a unique day service which provides support for adults with an intellectual disability and /or autism using a Total Communication approach.
The post of Communication Facilitator will involve supporting service users to develop their communication skills, independence, and confidence through planning and delivery of a wide range of sessions such as art, music, drama, and social skills, to name a few. You will be expected to take an active role in developing member's communication skills as part of every session, to enable them to work towards their personal life goals.
It is essential to have experience working with this client group. You must have excellent communication skills, and you will ideally be familiar with using alternative forms of communication such as Makaton.
As part of the role, you will have the opportunity to attend several bespoke training courses to develop your skills. We welcome and encourage staff to bring new and exciting ideas to the Day Service which add to the outstanding service we provide. You will receive excellent supervision and management to enable you to develop in your role.
Your own car and a full driving license with business insurance is desirable.
Salary will be £21,216 - £24,595 pro rata pa dependent on experience. The position is for 1 full time position and 1 part part time position (3 days a week Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) 8:30am – 4:30pm.
