Health Care Support Worker – NHS
Job summary: An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, research-active stroke service. The service admits patients aged 18 and upwards, delivered by a multidisciplinary team including research staff, providing evidence-based, patient-centred care from admission through discharge to the community. Responsibilities
* Provide direct patient care with a focus on the individual’s needs, including personal care and adherence to Infection Prevention policies.
* Maintain ward cleanliness and tidiness; communicate effectively with patients, their relatives and professional colleagues.
* Work under the supervision and support of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
* Essential: Understanding of patient-centred care and the role of the Health Care Support Worker.
* Essential: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Trust values.
* Desirable: Experience in a health or social care setting.
Training and Development
Comprehensive training upon joining; mandatory training to support clinical skill development; annual stroke-specific training.

* Salary: £24,465 per annum
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Full-time
* Location: Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, York Hospital, Wigginton Road, York YO318HE
Additional information
* Interviews will be held in person at York Hospital.
* Application process may close early if a high number of applications are received.
* Must be able to attend a full-time induction programme for the first 4 weeks within 3 months of interview.
* Due to Home Office guidelines, we do not offer sponsorship for this role.
