Little Piggy has opened applications for a Chef/Baker to work within the events and kitchen team. The ideal candidate is passionate about being part of Little Piggy's successful catering and events business and will be committed to the smooth running of the kitchen. We are looking for a skilled, experienced and creative individual, with 2 years kitchen experience. The candidate will make desserts for outside events and will bake cakes and savoury pastries for our cafe. The right candidate will be flexible to help in the other areas of the kitchen as needed, including event prep for savoury/BBQ and pastry/ Event Day finishing/delivery.
There will also be the opportunity to work on the line in our new cafe. This really is a varied role for someone who would like to experience all areas of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:
-Follow HACCP guidelines for food preparation with excellent attention to detail
-To prepare high quality food with precision to detail, following Little Piggy recipes and procedures
-Following preparation lists to complete preparation of desserts for events, weddings and baking cakes for the on-site cafe
-Show efficient working practices to complete tasks in a timely manner
-Be a key player in managing wastage and stock control
-Ensuring fridge organisation is exceptional including food and event labelling
-Work as part of a friendly team to complete dessert/baking cooking tasks for events
-Reporting to the executive chef with equipment requests or new methods and recipes
-To follow systems ensuring exceptional high standards of cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen spaces
-To be a key team member in the daily 1hr clean down of the kitchen
-Confidently prepare and present food at events, understanding that you are the face of the company on these days (training will be offered).
-Manage or be part of flexible kitchen teams in catering marquee environments
-Work as a team player to ensure the events run smoothly, coping well under pressure

Schedule:
* Day shift, with some evenings to meet event needs
* 9.30am-4.30pm, Saturdays (varied but mainly 9.30am-9pm or noon-10.30PM)
* 41hrs a week
* Tuesday to Saturday
* Salary or variable hours contract
* 2 days off per week
* Flexible working hours if tasks are completed
