Quantity Surveyor - Consultancy Civil Engineering
Location: Gatwick (3 days per week on-site: Tuesday - Thursday)
Contract: Permanent / Secondment
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000
The Role
As the client-side Quantity Surveyor, your focus will be on commercial governance, contract administration, and providing expert advice to the client team. You will play a key role in ensuring value for money, managing risk, and supporting successful project delivery.
* Administering NEC contracts and providing guidance on compensation events, variations, and claims
* Reviewing and assessing contractor submissions, valuations, and change proposals
* Preparing cost reports, forecasts, and financial analyses for the client
* Advising on commercial strategy and risk mitigation
* Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and client stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery
* Monitoring project expenditure and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
* Supporting decision-making through accurate and timely commercial reporting
About You
We're seeking a civil engineering Quantity Surveyor with consultancy or client-side experience and a strong NEC background, ideally with exposure to airfield or highway infrastructure works.
* Proven experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts
* Civil engineering experience, ideally airfield/highways/runway projects
* Strong analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience working in a consultancy or client-side advisory role
* Relevant QS qualification (degree or equivalent)
