Circular Resourcing is recruiting for a Town Planner / Senior Planner to join an ambitious Utility Scale Solar / BESS Development Company looking to expand in the UK market.
Full Job Description
Our client seeks an enthusiastic and proactive candidate to join an experienced Development Team managing multiple BESS and solar projects through the planning process.
They are a well-funded Developer with a strong portfolio of legacy projects and a pipeline of new projects.
You will collaborate closely with the Development and Grid Teams. The team values cultural fit, and they are open to candidates with 2+ years up to 6/7+ years of experience in a senior planning role.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide planning advice for site selection and stakeholder engagement.
* Manage and submit planning applications, coordinating with external consultants.
* Track the planning process through to decision.
* Advise internal and external stakeholders on planning issues.
* Support other departments as needed.
Requirements
* Experience in planning within renewables or NSIP, especially Utility Scale Solar and/or BESS.
* Knowledge of UK planning regulations and policies.
* Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, etc.
Skills and Aptitude
* Understanding of planning processes, easements, rights of way, and constraints.
* Self-motivated with enthusiasm.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Team player.
* Aspiring to succeed with support.
* Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
