Position Overview The Mechanical Tradesperson is responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs, fault-finding, and installation work on plant, equipment, and machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role involves both preventative and reactive maintenance activities and requires a high level of technical competence, safety awareness, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery. Diagnose faults using technical knowledge, drawings, and diagnostic tools. Conduct equipment overhauls, rebuilds, alignments, and component replacements. Install, commission, and test new mechanical equipment. Safety & Compliance Work in compliance with WHS/OHS regulations, company policies, and safe work procedures. Identify and report hazards, incidents, and equipment defects. Participate in risk assessments, permits to work, and safety improvement initiatives. Maintain clean and orderly work areas. Technical & Operational Requirements Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Use precision tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely and effectively. Operate mobile plant or lifting equipment (e.g., forklifts, EWP, overhead cranes) where required.
