About The Role
The successful candidate will possess a blend of technical and soft skills, with knowledge of mechanical engineering and project management. Excellent communication skills are essential to interact with project and client teams, and to lead technical queries and issues during the project.
Responsibilities
1. Manage engineering requirements by liaising with key stakeholders (client design team, main contractor, suppliers, subcontractors, etc.).
2. Review design/IFC specifications and drawings to understand project scope.
3. Coordinate to transform design info into installation drawings, ensuring compliance and schedule adherence.
4. Familiarize with project schedule to support engineering activities aligned with construction timelines.
5. Create and track technical submittals and approvals.
6. Engage vendors for technical support and value engineering.
7. Manage material procurement using Engineering Materials Reports (EMR), including material take-offs and lead times.
8. Oversee equipment procurement and delivery tracking.
9. Ensure installation complies with project specifications and QA plans.
10. Conduct site audits to verify process adherence.
11. Prepare and agree on project completion criteria and close-out documents.
12. Develop subcontractor and supplier tender packages with the project QS.
13. Manage work packs from development to implementation and handover.
14. Prioritize BIM tasks such as isometric generation and release.
15. Communicate with clients and prepare reports for directors and stakeholders.
16. Schedule meetings and training sessions as needed.
17. Coordinate with client project management and contractors to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
18. Provide technical support during construction phases.
Candidate Requirements
1. At least 3 years' experience with a recognized mechanical contractor in process mechanical or pipework.
2. Strong organizational and project planning skills.
3. Teamwork capability.
4. Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Proficiency in Navisworks and engineering database systems.
6. Experience with project planning software like Primavera and CAD/BIM processes.
