As the First Line Manager (FLM) you will be responsible for supervising warehouse operatives, maintaining operational discipline, optimising performance, and ensuring high levels of accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. Purpose of the role This role acts as a development position toward Shift Manager, providing hands-on leadership experience, operational ownership, and growing responsibility in decision-making, planning, and cross-functional coordination. The FLM ensures the effective execution of daily warehouse activities, leads and develops operational teams, and supports continuous improvement across workflows, compliance, and service delivery. How you'll make an impact as a First Line Manager at Movianto: Allocate labour and resources effectively based on demand, priorities, and shift plans. Support the Shift Manager in executing operational plans, monitoring workflow, and resolving service risks. Maintain compliance with GDP, internal SOPs, temperature-controlled handling requirements, and standards for controlled and sensitive products. Identify and escalate deviations, operational risks, and service issues promptly. Team Leadership & Development Supervise, coach, and mentor warehouse operatives, fostering a high-performance culture, conduct performance reviews, support formal development planning. Support staff onboarding, cross-training, and skills development to enhance workforce capability. Manage attendance, conduct return-to-work discussions, and maintain fair resource distribution across the shift. Customer & Stakeholder Management Act as an operational contact point for customer service teams, QA, Inventory, Transport, and other departments. Provide timely updates regarding order status, service risks, and operational throughput. Support customer-related projects, audits, and service improvements under the guidance of the Shift Manager. investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA). Performance Management & Reporting Monitor accuracy, productivity, service levels, and other KPIs throughout the shift. Provide operational data, shift summaries, and performance insights to the Shift Manager. Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Participate in continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean initiatives, warehouse flow optimisation). Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience. Strong understanding of GDP or equivalent regulatory frameworks. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
