Job Role: Contracts Manager Plumbing & Heating
Area: Kent
Salary: GBP60k - GBP70k
My client is looking for a Contracts Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for managing the successful execution and completion of multiple projects, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and working collaboratively with internal departments such as the commercial team.
This role will cover Kent and London.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress and ensure quality standards are met consistently across all projects.
* Compile, maintain, and issue project programmes.
* Assist with material take-offs, scheduling, and procurement processes.
* Analyze labor resource requirements, manage labor placement, and control associated costs within set budgets.
* Schedule engineer rates and prices in coordination with project planning.
* Review, authorize, and schedule engineer payments, ensuring invoicing reflects work completed.
* Prepare monthly payment applications for clients and manage project variations.
* Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are prepared and monitored.
* Adhere to company policies regarding health & safety, environmental standards, etc.
* Assist in preparing technical submissions.
* Compile certification, literature, and prepare O&M manuals.
* Support post-completion activities such as defect resolution, liaising with the After-Sales Department.
* Provide advice and support to site teams, especially Foremen and Supervisors.
* Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third parties.
* Participate in internal cost review meetings to compare costs against budgets and forecasts.
* Prepare work-in-progress reports for senior management upon request.
* Perform other duties as reasonably required by senior staff.
The ideal candidate will have:
* At least 5 years of management experience in a similar role.
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Services or relevant field.
* Practical skills/certification in plumbing or related trades.
* CSCS card.
* First Aid certification.
* SMSTS certification.
