We are seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our mental health inpatient teams across four hospital sites. The role focuses on recovery‑focussed, person‑centred care and offers opportunities to develop staff, lead initiatives and shape service delivery.
Key responsibilities
* Provide occupational therapy to adult and older‑adult mental health service users, utilising the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and other evidence‑based frameworks.
* Lead and supervise multidisciplinary teams to ensure high quality service delivery.
* Conduct assessments, formulate care plans and deliver interventions that support recovery and empowerment.
* Co‑produce therapeutic activities with lived‑experience consultants and other professionals.
* Contribute to quality improvement projects, clinical supervision and staff development.
Person specification
Education / Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of further education or training
Experience
* Extensive clinical experience with individuals and groups, including experience in mental health settings.
* Experience of supervising and receiving supervision.
Knowledge and skills
* In‑depth knowledge of the MOHO and occupational formulation.
* Proficiency in conducting assessment and intervention with adults with mental health needs.
* Ability to work independently, using own initiative with regular supervision.
* Understanding of current health and social policy and its implications for occupational therapy practice.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capacity to build effective relationships within multidisciplinary teams.
* Commitment to person‑centred, compassionate and inclusive care.
