Lifeline is a NEW provision established under the umbrella business of Bettws Lifehouse, a well known and respected SEN provider. The AP, however, is a stand alone offer with an individual contract pertaining to this business.
We're looking for mentors who bring heart, curiosity and energy to a team dedicated to helping young people take the first steps towards positive change in their lives. You will help them to navigate through the challenges of education, friendships, family and society. You will provide or signpost professional services such as mentoring and coaching, learning support, occupational therapy, communication and language therapy, holistic therapies, careers advice and guidance, diet and sleep advice, and personal training for health and fitness. This particular post is an opportunity for someone with an interest in helping those disengaged with education to gain basic academic skills and career guidance. It may suit someone with teaching experience or a special interest in SEN.

Responsibilities
* Provide mentorship and guidance to children and young people, fostering their personal and academic growth.
* Engage in youth work activities that promote leadership and teamwork.
* Utilize teaching skills to develop and implement educational programs tailored to individual needs.
* Support children with special education requirements, ensuring an inclusive environment.
* Collaborate with parents and community members to enhance support networks for children.
The successful candidates will be based at our Lifeline centre in Shrewsbury and surrounding areas, normally within Shropshire. You will be prepared for lone working in the local community, homes, schools and colleges of the young people. The support is always shaped by the individual so no two days will be the same. Young people may be referred by their school or college, the local authority, through education or social care, or by their own families.
Experience working in either education, health or social care would be beneficial.
You will need to be a confident driver with your own car which you will be prepared to use for work purposes. Mileage will be paid at 45ppm. You will need to have appropriate references and a clean DBS for working with vulnerable children and adults.
