The Role
As a Resistant Materials Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop design and practical skills using a range of materials and techniques.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Teaching Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4
2. Delivering lessons in design, manufacturing, and practical construction techniques
3. Supporting students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation
4. Planning differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities
5. Promoting safe working practices, including health & safety in workshops
6. Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback
7. Working collaboratively within the Design & Technology department

Requirements
To be considered for this Resistant Materials Teacher role, you will need:
14. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
15. Experience teaching Resistant Materials or Design & Technology at KS3 and/or KS4
16. Strong knowledge of practical materials, tools, and manufacturing processes
17. Confident classroom and workshop management skills
18. A passion for practical education and student engagement
19. Eligibility to work in the UK
20. A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
This role is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs, or DT specialists with a Resistant Materials background.
