A well-established 11–18 academy in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Mathematics to lead its successful and well-resourced department. The academy has built a strong reputation locally for steady academic progress, structured behaviour systems and clear, values-driven leadership.

Mathematics is a core strength of the school, with consistently solid GCSE outcomes and a healthy uptake at A-Level, including Further Mathematics. This appointment offers the opportunity to shape curriculum direction, strengthen pedagogy and continue raising standards across all key stages.

The Role

As Head of Mathematics, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership for the department. You will oversee curriculum sequencing, assessment frameworks, intervention strategy and staff development while maintaining a visible and high-impact presence in the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading teaching and learning across KS3–KS5
• Ensuring a coherent and ambitious curriculum progression
• Driving GCSE and A-Level outcomes through targeted strategies
• Line managing and mentoring members of the Mathematics team
• Using performance data effectively to inform intervention
• Contributing to whole-school improvement planning

The role includes appropriate leadership time to support departmental strategy and staff development.
