Role
The assistant bar manager is responsible for O2 Academy Birmingham’s multiple bars (three rooms), stock control procedures and management of a diverse team of front-of-house employees. The role is to ensure our bars’ operation is executed to the highest standard across a wide variety of live shows, clubs and events. The assistant bar manager will work closely with the bar manager to drive financial success and achieve annual company targets.

About you
1. Experience in bar supervision or management in the hospitality industry or live venues
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages and EPOS systems
3. Knowledge in cellar management
4. Understanding of health and safety regulations and licensing

6. Enthusiasm for the live events, club and hospitality industry
7. Flexibility to work irregular hours (weekends/evenings/public holidays)
8. Attention to detail and good communication skills
What you’ll be doing
9. Recruitment and training of front-of-house employees
10. Stock management, ordering and regular stock-takes
11. Smooth running of operational responsibilities
12. Supervision of a large team
13. Achieving targets as set by the bar manager
14. Assist in forecasting revenues and cost control
15. Financial reporting
16. Cash management
17. Processing weekly payroll
18. Duty management at live events
19. Liaison with suppliers, partners and head office
20. Bars and cellars maintenance and repair and service organisation
21. Supervision of deliveries
22. First-class client and customer service
23. Highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene across all bar operations
