Electrician\nLocation: Nottingham\nSalary: Up to £35,000 + 15% weekend shift allowance (rota-based)\nContract Type: Full-time, Permanent\nHours: 39 hours per week (including occasional weekends)\n\nOverview\nWe’re currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join the facilities maintenance team at a secure HMP site. This is a permanent, on-site role with a competitive salary and additional weekend allowance.\nThe role involves carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational in a secure environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance\n\n * Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components\n\n * Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns\n\n * Conduct fault-finding and problem-solving across systems\n\n * Carry out electrical installations to current wiring regulations\n\n * Inspect and test electrical installations (BS7671 standards)\n\n * Monitor and order critical electrical spares and stock\n\n * Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times\n\n * Support carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives on-site\n\nWhat You’ll Need\nEssential:\n\n * Recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1–3, NVQ Level 3)\n\n * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or 17th Edition with willingness to upgrade – support may be provided)\n\n * Proven experience in electrical maintenance, testing, and fault-finding\n\n * Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations\n\n * Ability to work at height and in a secure setting\n\n * Comfortable working independently and using initiative\n\nDesirable:\n\n * IT literacy\n\n * Experience with fire alarm and/or CCTV systems\n\nPlease note: this position is within a secure facility and will require successful completion of security clearance procedures.\n\nBenefits\n\n * Competitive salary up to £35,000\n\n * 15% weekend working allowance (on rota)\n\n * 24 days annual leave + bank holidays\n\n * Company pension scheme\n\n * Career development and training opportunities\n\n * Access to employee benefit schemes and discounts\n\n * Paid volunteering days\n\n * Health and wellbeing support options\n\nGet in touch with Jacob form HVAC for more info
