Head of Commercial - InPost Newstrade at InPost UK
The InPost Newstrade division specialises in final‑mile delivery for newspaper publishers and magazine distributors, covering 75% of the UK and Ireland with a 45% market share. Operating from 36 locations, we deliver almost 1bn newspapers, magazines and collectibles to around 21,000 customers. The division includes core final‑mile operations, magazine primary distribution, corporate distribution, outsourced retail consultancy, and airside media placement.
As our network grows at lightning speed, so do the opportunities. This senior leadership role combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement to drive business growth, profitability and long‑term partnerships.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Support the Managing Director to develop and lead the implementation of the commercial strategy for InPost Newstrade aligned with overall business goals.
* Lead financial planning and commercial forecasting, including pricing, margin management and cost optimisation.
* Build business cases for new initiatives, ensuring strong ROI and alignment with company objectives.
Commercial Management & Partnerships
* Lead negotiations with publishers, distributors and retailers to secure strategic contracts and long‑term partnerships.
* Working in partnership with Legal and Finance, own end‑to‑end contract management (negotiations, financial modelling through to close).
* Oversee performance monitoring, contract compliance and commercial risk management.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
* Partner with key internal stakeholders to deliver customer‑centric, scalable commercial solutions.
* Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
* Work closely with product and innovation teams to translate customer needs into commercial opportunities.
Leadership & Team Development
* Set clear objectives, performance metrics and development pathways for direct reports.
* Represent the business at senior‑level industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings.
Qualifications

* Proven track record in a senior commercial leadership role (Head of Commercial or similar).
* Strong background in logistics, retail or publishing distribution sectors (preferably news/magazine).
* Deep understanding of B2B partnership models and commercial contract negotiation.
* Contract negotiation experience is a must.
* Strong financial and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at C‑suite level.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
