Position: English and Maths Tutor
Hourly Rate: £25 – £35
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to provide personalised one-on-one instruction in English and Maths. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and capable of tailoring lessons to meet individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver individual tutoring sessions in both English and Maths
* Develop customised lesson plans based on each student’s strengths and areas for improvement
* Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
* Inspire and motivate students to build confidence and achieve academic success
* Maintain clear and professional communication with students and their parents or guardians
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* A recognised qualification in English and Maths
* Minimum of A-levels (or equivalent) in both subjects
* At least 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills and Knowledge Required:
* In-depth knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum
* Ability to tailor teaching methods to suit various learning styles
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
Desirable Qualifications:
* Formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE)
* Experience working with students of varying ages and abilities
Working Conditions:
* Part-time hours with a flexible schedule
* Travel may be required to students’ homes or local tutoring centres
* Close collaboration with students and their families

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
