Position Overview:
1. This role leads the Supply Chain Planning activities for key companywide new product launches.
2. They manage ConvaTec’s Supply Chain process related to new product introduction (IDEAL process).
3. The role is guided by our FISBE strategy with a key emphasis on Simplification and Build. It is of key importance to the realization of the Convatec product portfolio investments and a key enabler to the successful delivery of the Supply Chain operational and financial targets.
4. The function is part of the Global Supply Chain team of Convatec and sits in the SC Product Portfolio Management team reporting to the Supply Chain Director, Product Portfolio Management.
5. This is a highly collaborative role where strong partnerships must be developed and maintained with the Advanced Operations group and Global Marketing as well as the Supply Chain Planning and Production Planning teams.
Key Responsibilities
6. Ensure Supply Chain readiness for new product launches, meeting targets on key Supply Chain metrics around service, productivity and inventory.
7. Own Supply Chain launch strategy and act as Supply Chain SME in companywide launch projects.
8. Consider and plan key supply chain criteria such as production volume and capacity, inventory strategy, launch demand plan scenarios, timelines, ramp up, artwork requirements, network design and material requirements. It is the responsibility of this role to ensure the collection, clarity and alignment of decisions associated with these launch considerations and scenarios.
9. The execution of the Supply Chain launch plan will be done via the Business Unit SC teams (Demand, Supply Planning, Logistics and Customer Service), close collaboration and clear communication between the teams is essential to ensure successful handover and integration into the BAU S&OP process.
10. Effective communication with project team members to ensure all participants understand Supply Chain requirements, tasks, and deadlines.
11. Accountable and responsible for Supply Chain relevant risk management providing mitigation plan and clear communication of risk.
12. Build and maintain strong partnership, alignment and close collaboration with Advanced Operations group and Global Marketing as well as the Supply Chain Planning and Production Planning teams to ensure successful execution of project.
13. Involves delegating, coaching and/or reviewing work of other professionals, even informally – specifically the role will coordinate the extended Supply Chain project team and delegate tasks to wider team (includes BAU SC planning teams, site Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Advanced Operations).
14. Lead large-scale or complex supply chain projects with significant ambiguity or cross-functional dependencies.
Skills & Experience
15. 5+ years’ experience in global Supply Chain Management in medical device or pharmaceutical industry, or similar.
16. Experience in Demand and Supply Planning, product portfolio management and S&OP essential with demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Planning for new product launches.
17. Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
18. Evidenced ability to execute and deliver effectively under high pressure and fixed time constraints, resilient.
19. Strong relationship builder, ability to co-ordinate with cross-functional areas and business functions and work effectively with others to make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
20. Ability to fit into a customer and patient-oriented culture.
21. Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and to deal with ambiguity.
22. Expertise in Microsoft Excel and SAP (or similar ERP tool) essential, SAP IBP modules experience highly preferred.
Qualifications/Education
23. University-level degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other relevant field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
24. Certification in Supply Chain Management would be desired.
Travel Requirements
25. The position may involve travel up to 15% of the time.
26. International travel is possible. Most trips will include overnight travel.
